Objectives

It is intended with this curricular unit that the students acquire a solid theoretical knowledge, as well as a set of methodologies and techniques of analysis that allow them to achieve the following objectives:

1.To know the processes of transport and accessibility in tourism
2. Understand the relationship between transport and tourism
Identify and characterize modes of transport and the concept of intermodality
3. Understand and analyze the relationship between supply and demand in the transport sector
4. Know how smart technologies work in transport.
5. Understand accessibility in tourism and why it is important
6.Intending the stereotypes linked with accessibility in tourism
7. Identify organizations that promote affordable tourism in Europe.
8. Analyze transport and accessibility with field visits
9. Perceive to practice some research techniques in the area of tourism and accessibility

Teaching Metodology

Theoretical-practical classes of exploration of concepts and application of contents to concrete situations. The use of methods of theoretical exposition of the various contents, complemented with interactive methods that stimulate student participation, through debates, analysis of case studies, role-playing, brainstorming, etc.
Activities of research and analysis of documents for the development of proposed tasks, namely the accomplishment of a project in group, that will be accompanied by the professor. Also visits of the field and presentations.
It is also intended to carry out technical study visits and / or talks with invited speakers, which will allow the consolidation of the knowledge acquired.

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the curricular unit's objectives

The programmatic contents are consistent with the objectives of the CU, as can be seen through the comparative analysis of these two parameters. The objectives related to the theme Transport and tourism will be achieved through programmatic content 2, understanding the geography of the transport network, characterizing different modes of transport and intermodality, and understanding transport supply and demand. Objectives 5 to 7 refer to the theme of accessibility and will be implemented through programmatic content 3, which will explain the main general concepts about accessible tourism, new trends in this area and the main operations involved in the hotel industry

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's objectives

The teaching methodologies adopted are consistent with the objectives of the curricular unit, integrating a set of activities that allow students to have the necessary tools to consolidate the acquired knowledge. Firstly, the use of the expository method, associated with the interactive method, will allow the student to understand the fundamental concepts of the transportation and accessibility systems in tourism expressed in the various objectives of the CU. The activities of research and analysis of documents, as well as the accomplishment of group work, will allow to consolidate the acquired knowledge and apply this knowledge to concrete cases. Finally, conducting study visits and / or holding lectures with invited speakers will allow students to learn about nearby realities, enhancing the teaching-learning process of the CU.
