Students will be able to:
interact with clients and professionals in the tourist industry in common situations

speak with colleagues and other professionals to achieve necessary outcomes to deliver required services understand forms, information documents, rules & regulations and other documents relevant to obligations of tourism professionals
understand written requests from clients and colleagues
respond to written requests; draft working documents for colleagues
Students should be at level A2 of the CEFR so they can build on existing knowledge and skills to achieve B1 level by the end of the academic year, when they will have completed Inglês Técnico II.
This is a highly practical course, with examples of appropriate speaking and writing, which students will emulate, perfecting their own abilities by practising and redrafting.
Reading and listening will be approached through authentic texts, such as articles and documents, that are found in the hospitality and tourism industry.
Students will work in groups and alone to produce written and spoken material, improve versions and eventually submit these for assessment.

Writing/speaking: role play and job descriptions.

Giving directions to tourists: listening, then practice with role cards.

The materials used are taken from authentic texts, written and spoken, which students are likely to meet in their future jobs. Practice will develop the language skills they will require.
