1. Understand the phenomenon of events, as well as their contribution as a strategic factor for the development of tourism;
2. Provide methodological tools for the planning and organization of touristic events;
3. Provide tools for a good promotion of events;
4. Provide tools for capturing and creating regional, national and international events;
5. Know and articulate effectively the techniques of event management;
6. Know how to characterize, plan and organize an event in its administrative, commercial, operational and financial aspects;
7. Know the rules of protocol in events;
8. The importance of tourism animation in tourism activities.
The classes will combine the formal exposition of concepts, theories and models, stimulating the students’ participation through debate, constant intervention and critical reflexion on the approached themes. The expository/ participatory approach will prove to be useful mainly for the conceptual/theoretical themes.
There will also occur practical sessions with the aim of developing a project, supervising the evolution of the work developed by the students, as well as sessions dedicated to the presentation and debate of their final projects.
Students will also develop their knowledge through the analysis case studies, technical visits and lectures with invited speakers.

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the curricular unit's objectives
The objectives of the curricular unit are adapted to the programmatic contents, being developed according to the evolution in the learning of the contents, being adapted to the several parts in which the proposed program is divided. Connecting closely with examples and practical application cases, UC will explore the UC's key theoretical concepts, methodological processes, and analytical techniques applied to events.
Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's objectives
Given that the proposed objectives balance the fundamental theories of Organization and Event Management, associated with tourism and the practical application of content in the field of concepts, the methodology adopted fulfills these aims. Transversal at all times of teaching is the research approach, evident in the group project to be built along the course, which is understood to constitute fundamental competence of the future degree in tourism.
