Objectives

1. Understand the influence of the dynamization of the travel value cycle in the promotion of tourist destinations;
2. Understand the importance of the sustainability of urban development, economic development and socio-territorial cohesion in the process of qualification of tourist destinations.

Teaching Metodology

The theoretical-practical classes will be taught through expository methods and teaching / learning method, demonstrable in the formal presentation of concepts with later practical application through the documentary analysis of sectoral plans, in urban context, that influence and are influenced by the tourism. Field trips will be provided in addition to the theoretical-practical contact in the room.

Area 2 | The role of the DMO's - Destination Management Organizations in the promotion and dynamization of tourism destinations;
Area 3 | Strategies and actions to boost the travel value cycle in the promotion of destinations with tourism potential;
Area 4 | Qualification of tourism destinations: urban rehabilitation, strengthening economic attractiveness, improving mobility and improving the urban environment.

The contents of Areas 1 and 2 concretize the organizational framework and the necessary bases for understanding the statement in Objectives 1 and 2. The contents of Area 3 concretize the presentation of the material related to Objective 1 and the contents of Area 4 the exposition of the subject Objective 2.

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's objectives

For both objectives, the theoretical-practical classes involve several methodologies: expository method (framework of concepts, models and theories); and teaching / learning method, in the practical application (critical analysis of the sectoral plans that will be approached). These methods will be complemented with field trips in order to know in loco the application of the plans and instruments analyzed.
